Youth unemployment is by far not any longer only a problem of underdeveloped countries. It adds seriously to social exclusion and poverty.

The rapid reduction of non-renewable resources, the destruction of ecosystems through climate change increase the pressure and burden that already presses on following generations’ shoulders.

The project “Preset“ strives for long-term future prospects of youth: It is about discovering and reinforcing the potential that especially lies in the field of ecology and development of sustainable projects. Young people shall be empowered and promoted so they are able to build up an independent economical future.

8 youth associations in Europe (Germany, Italy, Croatia, Liechtenstein) and Latin America (Brasil, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia) take part and meet within the framework of two international youth exchange-camps and sundry bi- or multilateral meetings of people who are active in youth work. They present best-practice-models in their countries, develop together online-trainings about ecological sustainable entrepreneurship and sum up their conclusions in the fields of education, politics and entrepreneurial practice at a closing meeting in Argentina.

Learning content that all participating young people should have access to, are:

  • Basic impulse to entrepreneurial actions

  • Dealing with digital media

  • Multicultural competences

  • Sense of responsibility for ecology and sustainability

Side benefits of this initiative are the improvement of transnational relations between participating youth organizations and transfer of knowledge in ecological disciplines.
